Tobacco Free Schools Study
In 2005 and 2006, TPEP conducted a study of 46 NC school
districts that had passed 100% Tobacco Free School (TFS)
policies to determine which factors were important in policy
passage and to provide recommendations to support the continued
promotion of 100% TFS policy adoption in NC. The study involved
detailed interviews with and analysis of data from 118 key
informants around the state who were intimately involved with
passage of their districts’ 100% TFS policies.
